Scholarships
Radio 4EB FM Ethnic Scholarship
Since 2001, QUT and radio station 4EB have offered an annual Ethnic Radio Scholarship
for Journalism study at QUT. The aim of the scholarship is to provide broadcast experience and study support
to students working to enter the general Australian media workforce.
In 2008, two scholarships valued at $5000 will be offered. The scholarship are designed to cover HECS with the balance as a cash
stipend. The scholarship is for one year's duration, though a student can reapply
in the next round of offers to continue their studies. Applications close 4pm, Monday 21 December 2007, with the successful applicants announced in January.
The successful applicants must have at least one parent born outside of Australia
and they will be asked to join 4EB as a part-time volunteer. The scholarship will be awarded to a prospective or current student from a non-English speaking background to undertake studies at an undergraduate or postgraduate level in the following courses:
- KJ32 Bachelor of Journalism
- KK54 Bachelor of Journalism (Honours)
- IF05 Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Journalism
- IF27 Bachelor of Mass Communication
- IF07 Bachelor of Journalism / Bachelor of Law
- KK33 Bachelor of Creative Industries (Interdisciplinary) (for students completing the Journalism, Media and Communication major)
- KJ35 Graduate Certificate in Journalism
- KJ36 Graduate Diploma in Journalism
- KJ42 Master of Journalism
