executive dean's merit scholarship

Tuition fee scholarship for selected excellent students articulating into the second year of a Creative Industries Faculty undergraduate program.

Selection Criteria
These scholarships are competitive and based on academic merit.

They are open to:

  • International students who meet QUT requirements for entry and two semesters’ equivalent advanced standing towards a Bachelor of Creative Industries, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Journalism or Bachelor of Music degree program, and
  • who have submitted a QUT application for the program (Form F) to QUT and
  • who can demonstrate a GPA equivalent of 6.0 or over based on studies to date or, in the case of Bachelor of Fine Arts applicants, who can demonstrate exceptional skills in their chosen discipline.

Terms

  • The scholarships provide a 50% scholarship on tuition fees for the remaining two full time years of the program, conditional upon satisfactory academic progression.
  • Up to two scholarships are awarded per calendar year: one in Semester 1 (February) intake, and one in Semester 2 (July) intake.
  • The final selection decision remains with the Executive Dean, Creative Industries Faculty and is non negotiable.
  • The Executive Dean reserves the right to choose not to award scholarships or to change any of the above terms or conditions, if necessary without notice.
  • This scholarship does not cover other fees e.g. amenities, health cover, visa processing, books, materials and other living expenses.

Selection process
Students who meet the selection criteria above are invited to apply for an Executive Dean’s Merit Scholarship.

Closing date for applications is December 15 for Semester 1 (February) intake and May 31 for Semester 2 (July) intake

Scholarship awardees will be notified by January 31 for Semester 1 (February) intake and June 30 for Semester 2 (July) intake

Please note:
The QUT Creative Industries Faculty scholarships scheme is subject to review at any time hence future scholarship availability cannot be guaranteed. Scholarship awardees who cancel or defer their semester of entry to QUT forfeit the scholarship and may apply again at a later date .
